Load Balancing
In order to grow as your traffic increases we know that you need cost effective load balancing. Our shared Zeus ZXTM load balancers are set up in a High Availability (HA) configuration and can distribute incoming requests exactly as you require. If appropriate, you also have the option of introducing dedicated load balancers or virtual load balancing appliances.
Load balancing is also a standard technique for introducing redundancy with seamless failover into a system, automatically redirecting traffic in the event of a a server going *pop*. Furthermore, it can be very useful for carrying out software upgrades, as it allows nodes to be taken out of the load balanced pool for patching etc. with no loss of service
Content Distribution Network (CDN)
If your audience is geographically diverse then it's important to consider how latency can be improved and how you can deliver images, videos and other static assets to them as quickly as possible. A CDN is a network of caching servers distributed in Points of Presence (POPs) around the globe enabling content to be cached and served locally, thus improving the user experience.
A CDN can also play an important role in 'buffering' your origin server(s) from sudden surges in traffic.
We've partnered with our CDN to be able to offer PAYG CDN from £26/100GB/month.
